Nicole Leder races the TriStar111 Germany

We are very proud to announce that Nicole Leder will race the TriStar111 Germany on June 6th in Worms. Nicole is one of the most successful German Triathlon pros. TriStar111 Monaco brings back the Formula 1 of Triathlon to the Principality on 5 September 2010.

The Principality of Monaco will host the brand new TriStar111 Monaco. After five years of Ironman 70.3, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, the Gouvernment, the Monegasque Triathlon Federation and the organisers decide to switch to the successful TriStar label. The entire organising staff of the Ironman 70.3 in Monaco follows CEO Georg Hochegger to his new company and will guarantee continuity while improving the race.

TriStar111 Monaco will replace the Monaco Ironman 70.3 triathlon competition in the Principality of Monaco. The Formula 1 of Triathlon remains in Monaco, while distances change for a more accessible race: A total distance of 111km has to be accomplished with 1km swimming, 100km cycling and 10km running. The inaugural TriStar event in Monaco will take place on 5 September 2010 with a maximum of 1000 participants.

“TriStar111 Monaco takes place in a unique spot full of splendid views. Athletes appreciated the race we have set up for the past five years, and now I am happy that most of my key staff followed me to make athletes’ dreams come true in my new company. Star Events in general and TriStar111 Monaco in particular will focus on the fun-factor while showing social responsibility and reducing the environmental impact of sports events.” says Georg Hochegger, CEO of Star Production.

The 1km swim takes place in the Larvotto Bay, just off the Larvotto Beach in the Southeast of the Principality. The 100km bike leg will take athletes out of Monaco heading to Roquebrune and up the steep Mountains of the hinterland. Breathtaking views and picturesque villages of the bike ride have always been the centerpiece of the triathlon in Monaco, and TriStar111 Monaco will take athletes to the most stunning places. The 10km run will be accomplished in two and a half loops on the world famous Formula 1 circuit featuring the Tunnel, the Port, the Gardens of the Casino and the hairpin bends.

“The slowest turns in Formula 1 are the fastest bends in TriStar111 Monaco. The hairpin curves of Spelugues will be run downhill and fullspeed. While the run portion is demanding, athletes will be blown away by the setting and the spectators. There are not many more opportunities than the TriStar111 Monaco to run along the Formula 1 circuit in a Monaco closed for traffic!” says Olivier Castelli, Global Event Operations Director of Star Production.

Monte Carlo and the Principality of Monaco have reached excellence in organising high quality and highly mediated sports events like the Formula One Grand Prix, the Monte Carlo Rally, the Monte Carlo Open, the Tennis Masters Monte Carlo, Monte Carlo’s International Show-Jumping, the International Swimmers Meeting, and “Herculis”, the second most important international meeting of the year. Triathlon has become a part of the international sport events in the Principality on the French Riviera, and TriStar111 Monaco will continue to promote the sport of triathlon in this inimitable spot in the World.

TriStar111 Monaco is organised by Star Production SARL, the Monaco-based company owning the TriStar label. Star Production SARL was founded when Georg Hochegger, after 12 years of successfully organising Ironman labelled races in four countries, decided it was time to put the athlete back in the focus of mass participation events. Early in 2010, the entire staff followed Hochegger into the new company in order to pool forces to set up triathlon races that are focused on fun, social responsibility and environmental protection. A portion of each entry fee is donated automatically to Lance Armstrong’s LIVESTRONG™ foundation, and each event applies the 4vita® program to reduce the environmental impact of sports events.

New TriStar222 Sardinia on the triathlon map

The prestigious Emerald Coast is home to the first international high-quality long distance triathlon event in Italy on 3 OCT 2010.

14 JAN 2010, Monte Carlo, Monaco/Milan, Italy

Sardinia will host the first ever TriStar222 long distance triathlon race on 3 October 2010. The TriStar222 Sardinia Arzachena Costa Smeralda is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Italy, where white sands meet crystal clear waters, the Emerald Coast. The first long distance triathlon in Italy entails 2km of swimming, 200km of cycling and 20km of running and is organized by I AM SPORT Events & Consulting and Star Production SARL with the support of the Region of Sardinia.

TriStar222 Sardinia Arzachena Costa Smeralda will be held on 3 October 2010 for the first time. Athletes from all over the world will enjoy the first ever TriStar222 labelled race covering a 2km swim, followed by 200km of cycling and 20km of running. It is the first time in history that a long distance triathlon with an international label will be hosted in Italy.

TriStar222 Sardinia offers one of my favourite cycling routes, attractive from the standpoint of scenery and at the same time challenging in terms of racing, thanks to the rolling landscapes. The hilly layout will enable all athletes to compete in agility and strength, and at the same time it will make the competition even more exciting”, says Martina Dogana, Italian Champion in triathlon who has participated in developing the race in Sardinia.

The 2km swim takes place in the clear waters of the Bay of Cannigione (Arzachena), in the province of Olbia. The 200km cycling portion follows a single-loop course entirely closed for traffic. Once in the vicinity of Arzachena, triathletes will head east towards Porto Cervo sailing around the headland on the east of Cannigione. Once back near Arzachena, the circuit will turn towards the coast in the North-West to Palau. Then athletes will follow the coastal road through Santa Teresa di Gallura until Aglientu, where the course will enter into the wild hinterlands of Northern Sardinia distinguished by the classical Mediterranean bush through  Luogosanto, Tempio Pausania, Luras, Calangianus, Sant'Antonio di Gallura and back to Cannigione. The 20km run course consists of a very fast circuit of 5 km, entirely flat along the seafront of Cannigione, to be completed 4 times.

"Our city is enriched by a new international event that will help promote the area and facilitate meetings of world-class athletes and actors of a fascinating sport discipline that is sweeping across Europe with increasing numbers of participants. I thank everyone for their speed in setting up this event allowing us to be at the top of this sport in Italy”, said Stefano Piero Filigheddu, Mayor of Arzachena, at the presentation of the event earlier this week.

Costa Smeralda – the Emerald Coast – is a coastal area in northern Sardinia covering more than 30km with enchanting beaches and beautiful landscapes. The area is a luxurious tourist destination and hosts important international sports events like the Sardinia Cup sailing regatta, polo matches, vintage car rally’s, and also the Italian Film Festival.

TriStar222 Sardinia Arzachena Costa Smeralda is organised by I AM SPORT Events & Consulting, a Milan-based company founded by Andrea Vasco, Marco Galliena and Stefano Leone. The Region of Sardinia strongly supports the event; FITRI (Italian Triathlon Federation), Road Runners Club Milan and Oscar Petroboni – technical delegate for the Beijing Olympics 2008 and Member of the Technical Commission of ETU (European Triathlon Union) will collaborate to bring the event to a success.

The TriStar label is owned by Star Production SARL, a Monaco based company specialized in organising high quality sports events that are focused on fun, social responsibility and environmental protection. A portion of each entry fee is donated automatically to Lance Armstrong’s LIVESTRONG™ foundation, and each event applies the 4vita® program to reduce the environmental impact of sports events.

The full event website will go live on 19 January 2010, online registration will also open that day here on www.tristar222sardinia.com.

New Year - New Races

Happy New Year to all visitors of this website! The Star Events Team wishes you health, success and a lot of time for trainings in 2010!

2009 was an exciting period for Star Events - the creation of the brand, getting in contact with various interested race organisers and setting up the first ever Star Event - the TriStar200 Andalucía Desafío Donana in September were the milestones.

In 2010, more events will be added to the international race series. Germany has already some 400 athletes signed up, and the international team will be in Worms next week to finalize details on the plannings. This week, we are in Sardinia to check out the race locations, and participate in the press conference to announce the race. Of course we'll send all the info to you in our Newsletter, so if you did not sign up for it yet, do it right now on the right side off this page. It just takes some seconds and you'll always be up to date about the TriStar event series.

While the following events will soon be announced, we wish you all the best for now, and look forward to welcome you at any of our races in 2010!
