Marcus Ornellas speaks TriStar Day!

“During the 2011 season I trainned very hard and competed in 15 races. I was part of 2 TRISTAR events (Worms and Lyon). Unfortunately in both races I had problemswith my bike. At least in Worms I could finish but in Lyon I could not (flat tyre)…
Mostly of the races I have to travel without my family (Rita and Guilherme) and Lyon was the only opportunity to everybody be together. Although I DNF in Lyon, it was the best weekend of the season. My cousin (Fernanda) also was there and all of us travelled together.
We were less than 100 km from Lyon, in a small town, Yssingeaux, and we finally could have a nice and safe trip with our 1 year old baby (Guilherme).
My wife, Rita, is a student of “Patisserie” at ENSP in Yssingeaux and she could rent cars with a good discount there . Exactly on that weekend there were no cars for rent! The only option was a BUS!!!  And a new one with only 37 km on the odometer. So,… we took that bus and prayed to have a safe trip because I was scared to drive a so big vehicle. I was hoping that my “background” driving on the brazilian’s crazy traffic could help me on that time.
We arrived safe in Lyon and I went directly to the Expo to bring my number andleave my bike at the transition area. During this time my cousin asked to be part of the event as a volunteer . She was invited to hold the finish line tape!
Lyon is a very nice and beautiful city. Rita and Fernanda enjoyed a lot going to the race and to shop! Also all of us went to a nice restaurant to have a great food.
Definitively we had a good time there!”

“"So have you stopped laughing at the photos yet? These are photos from a photoshoot I did promoting a sports mattress. When they phoned me I was slightly scared as to what I would be doing lying on a mattress in lycra, but it turned out very innocent! As a professional athlete you have to turn your hand to various skills in order to get the income to have longevity in the sport. Some more glamorous than others, but it is the Tristar races that make it so worth it! The races are based on location and fun... You only have to look at the line up of races such as Monaco, Nevis, Split, Mallorca etc etc. They are such beautiful places that you can combine your love of sport with your love of travelling and seeing the world. What more could be better!"
