World’s best skiers competing in TriStar111 Estonia relay race

The team called „Skiers – Veerpalu-Olle-Mae” is competing in the international triathlon competition in Otepää on August 6-7, 2010.

Although classically an individual discipline, on TriStar111 Estonia in Otepää everyone has the opportunity to take it on as a team event  – 1km swim, 100km bike, 10km run.

The „Skiers – Veerpalu-Olle-Mae” team has divided the different disciplines between themselves as follows. Andrus Veerpalu, the two-time Olympic winner ja two-time world champion, will swim 1km in lake Pühajärve, he will then give turn to the winner of year 2000 Vasaloppet skiing marathon, Raul Olle, who will measure the 100km distance on his bike. The team will be lead to finish by Olympic bronze and World Champs’ silver Jaak Mae, who will take on a challenging 10km run.

„TriStar111 Estonia will be a great measurement of power between the best individual triathletes and teams of great athletes from other fields“, hopes Ain-Alar Juhanson, main organizer of the event.

„We are glad that in addition to Veerpalu-Olle-Mae team, other athletes have decided to take a step out of their comfort zone – the cheerleaders of Tartu University/ Rock basket ball club are represented with a ladies team and Tartu Tammeka football club will probably be represented with more than one team. They are setting a good example for all athletes to test themself – this year as a member of a relay team, next year as an inidividual triathlete”, says Ain-Alar Juhanson.

TriStar111 Estonia has different distances for different levels of fitness: 
· main distance for individual athletes and relay teams in total lenght of 111km 
· short distance for adult amateurs and children in total length of 11.1km

Sign-up is open until 1 August on the race’s web-page www.tristar111estonia.com. The first sign-up round will be closed on 31 May.

TriStar111 Estonia is the former Pühajärve Triathlon. In 2010, the team which joined forces with the owner and organizer of international TriStar Series, Star Production SARL. Star Production, whose moto is „Yes, you can!” organizes high quality endurace sport events all over the world.
