Second edition of TriStar Split on 30th of September

In order to assure better conditions for everyone TriStar Split has been postponed from 27th May to 30th of September. The new date suits perfectly to the TriStar international and Croatian race calendar. Since TriStar highest priority is to organize safe races and its aim to offer events of finest quality the organization decided to set the date for TriStar Split’s second edition on 30th of September. Better conditions for everyone could be assured only with a postponement to Sunday 30th September 2012. This date suits perfectly in to the agenda of the city as well in the agenda of the Croatian Triathlon federation. On the start line: local, national and international professionals such as Andrej Vistica, Dejan Patrcevic, Marin Koceic (CRO), Massimo Cigana (IT), Andy Fuchs (AUT), Jens Kaiser (D) and more to come. The opening ceremony will be held on Saturday with a humanitarian race called "Splitska Milja" followed by Sport Expo and the Race Briefing. On Sunday the race will start at 8:30 sharp.

Star Events (SE): What sports did you practice as a child?

Andrej Vištica (AV): Football and tennis, but at the recreational level.

SE: When did you start to be interested in triathlon?

AV: While I watched the Olympic Games in Sydney. But my interest disappeared again largely because triathlon was poorly represented in the media. Towards the end I re-ran the Faculty of triathlon and decided to try a triathlon race I was first in 2006. year.

SE: Triathlon in Croatia is relatively unknown. How do you personally support its development in Croatia and the region?

TriStar111 Split in the Croatian championship

The Croatian Triathlon Federation recognizes TriStar111 Split as long distance Triathlon in Croatia.

Following the ITU regulations the Croatian Triathlon Federation recognizes the TriStar111 Split race as first official long distance Triathlon in Croatia that will take place on May 27th 2012. Thus this very attractive touristic destination contributes strongly for the development of the endurance sports such as triathlon, cycling, running and swimming. StarEvents in collaboration with the Croatian Triathlon Federation aim to develop the Triathlon from todays 32 Croatian clubs with some 480 athletes to more than 1000 this year.

Der Coach
Achim Mörtl Achim war selbst 15 Jahre im internationalen Motorsport erfolgreich unterwegs, bestritt unter anderem für das Subaru Werksteam einige WM – Läufe zur Rallye – Weltmeisterschaft. Heute arbeitet Achim zu 100% im Coachingbereich, betreut im Spitzensport einige sehr erfolgreiche Triathleten und Bergläufer, als auch im Mentalbereich einige Rennfahrer, referiert auch als Fachreferent an den Österreichischen Bundessportakademien in den Bereichen Ausdauer und Trainingsplankonzeption.

Interview with Andi Fuchs, winner of TriStar Split 2011

Star Events (SE): Andi where are you and what are you doing at the moment?
Andi Fuchs (AF): I'm still in winter mode, which means that I train less and not so specific. This year I tried some new things, especially power training and athletics. Also, I know there is no need to go to the limit so early in the year.
