Better conditions for everyone could be assured only with a postponement to Sunday 10th June 2012. The new bike course leads the TriStar111 Worms-Germanyparticipants on a 2 x 50km circuit through the picturesque vineyards around Worms. Lothar Leder, the first man completing an Ironman race in less than 8 hours, and TriStar Worms-Germany event manager, is convinced that these changes will improve the race, which in 2011 attracted almost 1000 athletes. “Our goal is to have 1200 athletes on the start line in 2012. We want to increase the quality of our event. We are the perfect race to prepare for a big long triathlon in 2012. Our course is almost flat, fast and you recover quickly after the race.We have a change on the bike, now: 2 same loops with 50km each, faster than last year. The spectators have the chance to see all the athletes after 50km. And also we will have a Kids’ Race on Saturday,” says Leder, who also announced a new location for the Energy Night (pre-race party). “Our Energy Night is going to be at the race site in 2012. So as an athlete you can park the car close to Expo, Energy Night, Bike Park and Start/Finish area. Our Team is growing bigger and is even more motivated to deliver a perfect triathlon day in Worms on the 10.6.2012.”
TriStar111 Worms-Germany is the ideal choice for beginners and experienced athletes who want to get ready for other big European triathlon races in summer 2012. The 1k swim (split in the calm waters of the raft harbour of Worms concluded by a smooth swim in the Rhine River) is followed by 2 loops of 50km bike ride through the beautiful Rheinhessen wine country. A 10k run, crossing the Nibelungen Bridge twice, a part of which winds through the history-charged Old Town of Worms and the Finish-line at the Rhine River embankment complete this extraordinary race day.
