"As soon as we jump in the water we are all the same!". Interview with Christian Troger http://t.co/4d664zHY
The TriStar55.5 Salzkammergut will take you through breathtaking landscapes: 500m swim, 50km bike and 5km run. The central point of the event will be the Strandbad Litzlberg (Lido) in the municipality Seewalchen.
SWIM 0.5km & Transition 1
The Attersee with its water in drinking quality will be the location for the swim. The swimstart will take place in the Strandbad Litzlberg. You will do the one and only swim loop of 500m in the chrystal clear water of the lake and step on land in the popular Strandbad as well. In the Lido area the track will lead to the first transition zone which is located on the parking area of the Strandbad. After changing you will get your bike in the bike park leaving the Strandbad south to attack the 50km of bike.
BIKE 50km
Leaving the transition zone you will attack your bike loop anti clockwise around the Attersee. You will pass by the little municipalities of Attersee, Nußdorf, Unterach, Burgau, Weißenbach, Steinbach, Weyregg and Seewalchen. The majority of the track which includes only a few easy ascents leads you directly alongside the lake and gives you a gorgeous view on the mountain range called the Höllengebirge. After about 50km you close the bike loop and return to the transition zone in the Strandbad Litzlberg.
RUN 5km & Transition 2
Following the last transition the running loop of 5km is waiting for you. This loop includes only a few smaller ascents which give you an excellent view on the Attersee and finally leads you back to the Strandback Litzlberg. There the last meters on the finishline with all the cheering spectators will be the last ones that seperate you from your very first finish at the TriStar Salzkammergut and celebrating your performance at the shore of the picturesque sea.
THE OPINION OF FORMER PRO CYCLIST PACO WROLICH:
"No question: this is maybe the most picturesque bikecourse of all Austrian triathlons. Doing a lap around the scenic Attersee is a perfect start. It will be easy to find the right rhythm on this rolling section. Having the lake always on your left hand gives you additional motivation. The second part of the course is tougher but very nice too. You will pass another very beautiful lake of the Salzkammergut, the Mondsee. Especially good cyclists will love the hilly sections. Technically it is not a very hard course this is the reason why I am sure that everybody will enjoy this beautiful ride."
