"As soon as we jump in the water we are all the same!". Interview with Christian Troger http://t.co/4d664zHY
Why this new triathlon format?
Because it is accessible to many participants.
The recovery period after the race is shorter this is why you can restart your training very quickly after the race.
The distances are easy to understand.
The simple joy when participating and pleasure for sport are above competition.
What are TriStar111 and TriStar 11.1 distances?
TriStar111 combines 1km SWIM, 100km BIKE and 10km RUN for a total distance of 111km.
TriStar55.5 is the half distance: 0.5km SWIM, 50km BIKE and 5km RUN for a total distance of 55.5km.
What is the water temperature in July in the Hechtsee?
The water temperature is around 22 degrees Celsius in July. Wetsuits are mandatory at 14 degrees Celsius and are allowed until 22 degrees Celsius. (According ÖTRV-Sportordnung 2012-F.4.2)
I want to start training for a triathlon. Can I participate in a TriStar race?
Short swim and run distances make TriStar races very accessible to a variety of people. In addition you can choose between the two formats.
Are there any requirements for participating in the TriStar races?
You have to fullfill the following requirements - the minimum age and possessing a triathlon license (if you do not have a yearly triathlon license you can purchase a daily license on spot).
What about the bike course?
The bike profile is quite hard, but so attractive!
Which bike do you recommend: a road bike or a time-trail bike?
The bike course can be done with both, but a time-trial bike would be better.
Describe the run course?
Can I start in a relay team?
Yes, you can start as a team with 2 or 3 athletes. You will see it’s a lot of Fun. The timing chip will be passed between each member of your team and you will cross the Finish line together for a great Finishing Picture!
Will the course be closed to traffic?
Roads will be closed to traffic. Some official vehicles can be on the course (medical, etc.…). You still need to follow regular traffic law and stick to it at all times.
Where is the check-in and check-out?
Bike check-in is at transition area 1 at Hechtsee with the bike, streetwear and the bikebag. You have to leave your Run Bag at transition area 2 in the Kufstein- arena before the briefing. Check-out of the bikes will be at transition area 2 with ALL transition-bags. On Saturday you can go by car to the transition area 1. (Parking lots are limited)
On Sunday morning a shuttle service will bring you from Kufstein city to the transition area 1. Accessing this area with the car is possible until 7.30am an after the swimming at 9.30am.
