Arzachena was inhabited since prenuragic age, as demonstrated by the important archaeological remains and artefacts found there but its true identity of independence was achieved only in 1922 thanks to the struggles led by Michael Ruzittu, who managed to separate the territory from the town of Temple.

Cannigione, a few kilometres from Arzachena, where fishermen and their families settled were joined over the years by neighbours eager to live near the sea, a heterogeneous community was born. During this time tourism integrated with fishing, the first source of survival for the community. excellent structure for small yachts and luxury boats that can enjoy top class level hospitality structures around the dock.

Baia Sardinia, formerly called Battistoni, was the point of supply of water for the Military Navy.
