Sardinia is at the top of the ranking of the most beautiful beaches and seas of Italy!

Every year Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club report in the “Blue Guide” those locations who bet on quality at 360° and combine tourism with environmental respect, turning it into an added value. Besides clean waters and efficient services, the locations awarded with "Vele Blu" (Blu Sails) often add projects to improve waste management and air quality, enhance the landscape, historical centers and local products, take care about the gastronomical offering , adopt strategies for a proper planning of the territory improving the conditions of stay for all tourists.

This year Sardinia was awarded with 5 “Vele Blu” (the best result possible) for Bosa, Posada and Baunei and with other 4 “Vele Blu” for other eleven locations including Arzachena.

This result derives from the extraordinary and recognized natural beauty of these places, that pairs with the commitment to preserve the landscape and the coast and, especially, with a number of initiatives for the development of services and enhancement and protection of the territory.

In the June release of Triathlon (Italian Triathlon Magazine) a great space will be given to the TriStar222 Sardinia Arzachena Costa Smeralda and the natural and cultural beauties embraced by the race course.

Premiered some quotes from the interviews of the protagonists, inviting everyone to read the full article directly on the magazine!

The Assessor for Sport and Youth Policy of Arzachena, Roberto Ragnedda:

“Arzachena, Gallura and Sardinia are a tourist destination truly beloved especially by foreigners, and organize a sport event such as the new TriStar222 Sardinia in this area allows us to turn ourseleves to so many Triathlon fans who, attracted by the value of competition in Sardinia, will take advantage of their staying and enjoy not only the unique natural beauty worldwide known but also appreciate those cultural, social, and gastronomic topics that have been always contributing to fuel up the the myth of our territory."

Martina Dogana, testimonial of the event, tested the routes in preview:

"The swimming course will be fascinating due to the presence of boats and luxury yachts moored at the port, but also ensure a safe race since the Bay of Cannigione is very peaceful, almost like a pool. I think the bike ride is the best part of the race: we will cycle in one of the most beautiful areas of Sardinia and Italy, the course will be very technical due to the succession of ups and downs, real climbs and downhills, and the probable presence of wind along the coast, but road conditions are excellent and also the vehicular traffic is always very rare. The bike difficulties are paired from the run course, that is very easy, completely flat and paved"

A breathtaking location, a selective race course, the struggle for leadership from the professionals and the tenacity of the Age Group: TriStar222 Sardinia is announced as a show in which the public and mates will be the protagonists together with the athletes for a wonderful festival of sport.

Looking forward to the first edition of the Sardinian Event, scheduled on 3 October 2010,a large number of visitors from around the world, including spectators, enthusiasts, sportsmen, journalists and escorts are expected. The organisational team have considered the best solutions to ensure everyone can follow from the best positions to see the race develop and become an integral part of the event.

The Start Beach of Cannigione

In the swim section, spectators will be able to stay close to the athletes by moving for hundreds of meters along the fence of the port of Cannigione, waiting to incite them at exit from the water, close to the bike park.

The bike split offers many solutions, all very impressive: it will be possible to take a place along the bends around Porto Cervo, on the coastal road up to Santa Teresa Gallura, or wait for the athletes in the most difficult section of the course, at the 125 km mark, near Aglientu.

Martina Dogana during the Bike Course Recon in Jan 2010

During the final run leg the presence of the expo village "STAR & CO." located almost inside the course and surrounded by a vast equipped park, will permit you to follow the final steps of the race in absolute relaxation and allow you to "recharge your batteries" while waiting to move to the arrival area.

If this is not enough, a WEB and SMS service will be available to allow everyone to be informed in real time about the progress of each athlete.

At least, the lucky holders of a VIP pass will be able to follow the race from exclusive stages, live the excitement of professional athletes on the bike ride onboard a helicopter and then return to the finish area where they will congratulate all the finishers, from the first to the last.
