The first ever TriStar33.3 will take place on 29 May 2011 in Worms, Germany. The event format will attract new athletes who have not done much in triathlon before, and will take place during the TriStar111 Germany event. As soon as the last 111 athlete finished the swim, TriStar33.3 will start. It will be a fun day, and the only downside is that 111 who will bring in quite some 33.3 athletes will not be able to see them finish or cheer them on (because they are still on the bike, or on the run).

Athletes from the United Kingdom are very keen to travel and in almost every race we're setting up, the percentage of GBR athletes is very high. Blame it on the weather, or just accept the fact that they enjoy travelling more than other do: TriStar33.3 will not be any different. James Knowling is the first ever athlete to sign up for a TriStar33.3 and here is what he says!

James Knowling's Story, first TriStar33.3 athlete ever:

"In October I took part in my first Super Sprint Triathlon in Barcelona and having enjoyed it immensely I was therefore keen to get signed up for my next event as soon as possible. TriStar 33.3 seems a perfect match. Searching on line I came across one of the TriStar events and felt the TriStar 33.3 would be a good way progress from a Super sprint Triathlon perhaps with a view to eventually taking part in one of the TriStar111 events."

I will be in Worms with Thomas Babbington, founder of Capital Escapes Racing. Thomas introduced me to triathlons and is looking to take part in the TriStar111 Germany event as part of his training for his second Ironman participation. We'll be travelling with friends and plan to stay for a few days after the race to enjoy the sights and sounds of Worms."

"I am excited about the race, as I particularly enjoy getting on the bike which TriStar seems to put great emphasis on. I am currently doing some light training on the bike and in the pool and plan to increase the intensity in January."

Welcome to TriStar, we're excited to have you race TriStar33.3 on 29 May, James!

For all of you triathletes who have friends or family members who think about participating in a race themselves: Warn them! Triathlon is very addictive, even after the first try. Why we says so? Well, have a look at those dates in James' interview: "I took part in my first triathlon event on 17th October 2010 and enjoyed it so much I was signed up for my next event TriStar 33.3 by the 22nd October."

Yes, you can!
