La prestigieuse Côte d’Emeraude reçoit le premier événement triathlon longue distance de haute qualité en Italie le 3 OCT 2010.

La Sardaigne va accueillir pour la première fois un TriStar222, course de triathlon longue distance le 3 Octobre 2010.
Le TriStar222 Sardinia Arzachena Costa Smeralda est situé dans l’une des plus belles régions d’Italie, où le sable blanc rencontre des eaux cristallines, la « Costa Smeralda ». Le premier triathlon longue distance en Italie comporte 2km de natation, 200km de vélo et 20km de course à pied et il est organisé par I AM SPORT Events & Consulting et Star Production SARL avec le soutien de la Région Sardaigne.
TriStar222 Sardinia Arzachena Costa Smeralda aura lieu le 3 Octobre 2010 pour la toute première fois. Athlètes du monde entier vont profiter de cette première course labellisée TriStar222 parcourant 2km natation, suivi de 200km de vélo et 20km de course à pied. C’est la première fois dans l’histoire qu’un triathlon longue distance avec un label international aura lieu en Italie.
“TriStar222 Sardinia offre l’un de mes parcours vélo favoris, attractif du point de vue du décor et au même temps ambitieux techniquement parlant avec ses paysages montagneux. Le tracé vallonné permettra aux athlètes de rivaliser en agilité et force, mais aussi fera que la compétition soit beaucoup plus passionnante” , dit Martina Dogana, Championne de triathlon qui a participé dans le développement de la course en Sardaigne.
Les 2km natation a lieu dans les eaux claires de la Baie de Cannigione (Arzachena), en province d’Olbia. La portion des 200km vélo suit avec une seule boucle entièrement fermée au trafic. Près d’Arzachena, les triathlètes prendront la direction est vers Porto Cervo navigant autour des promontoires à l’ouest de Cannigione. Une fois de retour près d’Arzachena, le parcours se dirigera vers la côte au Nord-Est vers Palau. Les athlètes continueront donc sur la route côtière à travers Santa Teresa di Gallura jusqu’à Aglientu, où la course entrera dans l’arrière-pays sauvage du Nord de la Sardaigne caracterisé par la typique végétation méditerranéenne à travers Luogosanto, Tempio Pausania, Luras, Calangianus, Sant'Antonio di Gallura et retour sur Cannigione. Les 20km de la course à pied se déroulent sur un rapide circuit de 5 km, complètement plat le long du bord de mer de Cannigione, à compléter 4 fois.
"Notre ville s’est enrichie d’un nouvel événement international qui aidera à promouvoir cette région et facilitera les rencontres d’athlètes de niveau mondial et les acteurs d’une discipline sportive fascinante qui est en train de s’étendre à travers l’Europe avec un nombre croissant de participants. Je remercie tout le monde pour leur rapidité dans la mise en place de cet événement nous donnant l’opportunité d’être au top de ce sport en Italie”, a dit Stefano Piero Filigheddu, Maire d’Arzachena, lors de la présentation de l’événement en début de semaine.
Costa Smeralda – la Côte d’Emeraude – est une zone côtière au nord de la Sardaigne qui couvre plus de 30km2 de plages idylliques et paysages splendides. Cette zone est une destination touristique de luxe et accueille d’importants événements sportifs internationaux comme la Régate de voile Sardinia Cup, des matches de polo, rallyes de voitures anciennes et aussi le Festival du Film Italien.
TriStar222 Sardinia Arzachena Costa Smeralda est organisé par I AM SPORT Events & Consulting, une société basée à Milan et fondée par Andrea Vasco, Marco Galliena et Stefano Leone. La Région de la Sardaigne soutient fortement l’événement; la FITR (Fédération Italienne de Triathlon), le Road Runner Sports Club Milan et Oscar Petroboni – délégué technique pour les Jeux Olympiques de Beijing 2008 et Membre de la Commission Technique de l’ETU (European Triathlon Union) collaboreront pour que l’événement soit un franc succès.

“TriStar222 Sardinia offers one of my favourite cycling routes, attractive from the standpoint of scenery and at the same time challenging in terms of racing, thanks to the rolling landscapes. The hilly layout will enable all athletes to compete in agility and strength, and at the same time it will make the competition even more exciting”, says Martina Dogana, Italian Champion in triathlon who has participated in developing the race in Sardinia.
The 2km swim takes place in the clear waters of the Bay of Cannigione (Arzachena), in the province of Olbia. The 200km cycling portion follows a single-loop course entirely closed for traffic. Once in the vicinity of Arzachena, triathletes will head east towards Porto Cervo sailing around the headland on the west of Cannigione. Once back near Arzachena, the circuit will turn towards the coast in the North-East to Palau. Then athletes will follow the coastal road through Santa Teresa di Gallura until Aglientu, where the course will enter into the wild hinterlands of Northern Sardinia distinguished by the classical Mediterranean bush through Luogosanto, Tempio Pausania, Luras, Calangianus, Sant'Antonio di Gallura and back to Cannigione. The 20km run course consists of a very fast circuit of 5 km, entirely flat along the seafront of Cannigione, to be completed 4 times.

Costa Smeralda – the Emerald Coast – is a coastal area in northern Sardinia covering more than 30km2 with enchanting beaches and beautiful landscapes. The area is a luxurious tourist destination and hosts important international sports events like the Sardinia Cup sailing regatta, polo matches, vintage car rally’s, and also the Italian Film Festival.
