Joerie Vansteelant vigente campeón del mundo ITU de duatlón de larga distancia ya se ha inscrito al TriStar Mallorca

La prestigiosa Costa Esmeralda será el emplazamiento del primer triatlón de larga distancia de alta calidad en Italia, el próximo 3 de octubre de 2010.

Cerdeña acogerá el primer triatlón TriStar222 de larga distancia el 3 de octubre de 2010. El TriStar222 Sardinia Arzachena Costa Smeralda estará ubicado en una de las más hermosas zonas de Italia, donde el agua cristalina del mar baña la arena blanca de la Costa Esmeralda. El primer triatlón de larga distancia en Italia se dividirá en 2 km de natación, 200 km de recorrido ciclista y 20 kilómetros de carrera a pie, y está organizado por I AM SPORT Events & Consulting y Star Production SARL, con el apoyo de la región de Sardinia.
TriStar222 Sardinia Arzachena Costa Smeralda tendrá lugar por primera vez el 3 de octubre de 2010. Los deportistas que vengan de cualquier parte del mundo disfrutarán con el primer TriStar222 organizado, cubriendo 2 km a nado, seguidos de 200 km en bicicleta y 20 km de carrera a pie. Es la primera vez también en la historia que un triatlón de larga distancia de un sello internacional se desarrolla en Italia.
“TriStar222 Sardinia ofrece uno de mis circuitos favoritos de bici, atractivo tanto por su preciosa ubicación y sus increíbles paisajes como por su valor deportivo y competitivo. El diseño muy ondulado de este segmento hará que los triatletas midan sus fuerzas reales, al mismo tiempo que hace que la competición sea muy atractiva", afirma Martina Dogana, campeona italiana de triatlón, que ha participado en el desarrollo de la carrera en Cerdeña.
Los 2 km de natación tendrán lugar en las limpias aguas de la Bahía de Cannigione (Arzachena), en la provincia de Olbia. Le seguirán 200 km de segmento ciclista en un recorrido de una sola vuelta y con el tráfico totalmente cerrerado. Una vez en los alrededores de Arzachena, los deportistas se dirigirán hacia Porto Cervo, al oeste de Cannigione. Una vez de vuelta en
Arzachena, el trazado se encamina hacia la costa de Palau. Entonces los triatletas seguirán la carretera costera hasta Santa Teresa di Gallura yAglientu, donde la carrera se adentra en el salvaje norte de Cerdeña, con su típica vegetación mediterránea, hasta llegar a Luogosanto, Tempio Pausania, Luras, Calangianus, Sant'Antonio di Gallura y vuelta a Cannigione. Los 20 km de carrera pie se disputarán en un circuito muy rápido de 5 km, totalmente llano al lado de la playa de Cannigione, al que se darán 4 vueltas.
"Nuestra ciudad se enriquecerá con este evento internacional que ayudará a promocionar todo este área, y facilitará encuentros con deportistas de talla mundial de un deporte fascinante que cada año tiene más seguidores y participantes por toda Europa. Agradezco a todas las partes implicadas la gran celeridad con la que han puesto en marcha este proyecto, lo que nos permite estar a la vanguardia del deporte en Italia", dijo Stefano Piero Filigheddu, alcalde de Arzachena, en la presentación oficial de esta competición.
Costa Smeralda –la Costa Esmeralda– es una zona costera en el norte de Cerdeña que cubre más de 30 km2 uniendo playas y preciosos paisajes. Toda esta región es un destino turístico de lujo y alberga importantes eventos deportivos internacionales como la regata Sardinia Cup, partidos de polo, rallies de coches de época, y también el Festival Italiano de Cine.

“TriStar222 Sardinia offers one of my favourite cycling routes, attractive from the standpoint of scenery and at the same time challenging in terms of racing, thanks to the rolling landscapes. The hilly layout will enable all athletes to compete in agility and strength, and at the same time it will make the competition even more exciting”, says Martina Dogana, Italian Champion in triathlon who has participated in developing the race in Sardinia.
The 2km swim takes place in the clear waters of the Bay of Cannigione (Arzachena), in the province of Olbia. The 200km cycling portion follows a single-loop course entirely closed for traffic. Once in the vicinity of Arzachena, triathletes will head east towards Porto Cervo sailing around the headland on the west of Cannigione. Once back near Arzachena, the circuit will turn towards the coast in the North-East to Palau. Then athletes will follow the coastal road through Santa Teresa di Gallura until Aglientu, where the course will enter into the wild hinterlands of Northern Sardinia distinguished by the classical Mediterranean bush through Luogosanto, Tempio Pausania, Luras, Calangianus, Sant'Antonio di Gallura and back to Cannigione. The 20km run course consists of a very fast circuit of 5 km, entirely flat along the seafront of Cannigione, to be completed 4 times.

Costa Smeralda – the Emerald Coast – is a coastal area in northern Sardinia covering more than 30km2 with enchanting beaches and beautiful landscapes. The area is a luxurious tourist destination and hosts important international sports events like the Sardinia Cup sailing regatta, polo matches, vintage car rally’s, and also the Italian Film Festival.
